Why will my software not open WebP files?

WebP is a relatively recent Google format, and while every current browser decodes it natively, plenty of desktop applications still do not. Converting to PDF gives you a file that opens anywhere, which is usually the real goal.

Does animated WebP work?

Yes, with a caveat that is inherent to PDF rather than to Docqify: a PDF page is static, so an animated WebP contributes its first frame. The same applies to animated GIF.

Does WebP transparency survive the conversion?

It resolves to whatever you set as the page background, because PDF pages cannot be transparent. White is the default; black and custom colours are both available under Page background.
